Son of Charles Henry John Victor Born York 1844 and Catherine Augusta Born Leeds 1854 Married 1877 in the Strand Area of the City of London. William was educated at St Peters Schoool in York, he was an Associate of the Surveyors Institute and the R.I.B.A. and was a keen sportsman playing for the Knaresborough Cricket Club and the Harrogate Old Boys Rugby Club. William joined the Queens Own Yorkshire Dragoons on the 17/09/1914 as a Trooper Service Number 3096, and served with the British Expeditionary Force from 20/07/1915. He recieved his commision and was gazetted 2nd Lieutenant on the 23rd of October 1915 and was promoted to Lieutenant in May 1916. William had an accident and was taken to No 3 Australian Casualty Clearing Station where he passed away he left £1072.00 in a will to his mother. 1911/ medal Card Castle Cliffe Knaresborough.
