George was the only son of Frederick Born Wetherby 1866 and Martha Whincup Born Tadcaster 1861 they married at Tadcaster in 1887.
Fred and Martha also had five daughters.

George was the son of William, Born Haxby 1845 Passed away Bolton Percy in 1890 and Elizabeth Atley Born Morley 1848.
When George was born his father was a Veterinary Surgeon living on Commercial Street Tadcaster.
George had two brothers William, Fred and a sister Sarah.
In 1891 George was living near Ripon and working as a farm hand.
In the 1901 Census George was back in Tadcaster living again in Commercial Street working as a Groom and Coachman.
In 1905 George married Eliza Ann Cartman Born Deighton 1869.
George was in the Army Service Corps the Transport Division of the Army when he passed away most likely from a Disease.

Arthur was the son of Thomas and Emma Brunt who married in 1878 at Ferry Fryston, they had another son Fred and three daughters.
In 1901 Arthur like his father Thomas was working at Ferry Fryston as a coal miner.
In 1909 Arthur married Harriet Brook in Pontefract.
At the outbreak of war Arthur joined the miners regiment the K.O.Y.L.I. who trained in Otley where Arthur's wife was living when he lost his life.

"Private Tom Birdsall of Tadcaster has been Killed in Action.
He was employed at the Brewery before the war."

Thomas was part of the Birdsall clan around Tadcaster and was a cousin of the Birdsalls in the Barkston Ash /Saxton area, he was the son of Joseph John born in Towton and Mary Maggee.
Thomas had brothers Joseph John, Robert and two sisters Doris and Mary.
Thomas gave his life on the first day of the Battle for "Albert" better known as the "Somme"
and lies at peace in Fricourt where some of the worst fighting on the day took part,
indeed many men from West Yorkshire lie in this cemetery.

Harold was the only son of Walter (born Thetford 1848) and Sarah Ann Tindall who married 1877 in Bradford.
In 1881 Harolds father was a rent collector living on York Road Tadcaster, then as a bill poster in 1891.
In 1901 Harold was living with his sister and grandparents Thomas and Eliza Tindall at no 20 High Street Tadcaster and Harold aged 15 was a general labarour.
Harold married Ethel M Dowsland at Tadcaster in 1908 and in 1909 a Lillian Blake was born and in 1911 anouther daughter named Vera was born,
before joining the army in 1914 Harold worked at John Smiths brewery as a traction driver.
The newspaper article below explains why Harry lies at peace in Tadcaster Cemetery, being a prisoner of war was a traumatic experiance
and he posibly passed away from an illnes contracted whilst in Germany, when Harold passed away the family were living at Hodgsons Terrace in Tadcaster.
