SERVICE NUMBER: 38317. UNIT: 10th Service Bn York and Lancaster Regiment.

BORN: Bramham.  ENLISTED: Leeds. RESIDENCE: Boston Spa.

GAVE HIS LIFE: 15/11/1916. AGED:

MEMORIAL: Thiepval. PANEL: 14 A and 14 B.

Arthur had joined into the 15th Bn West Yorkshire Regiment (Leeds Pals) in September 1914 being given the service number 15/1081 and will have trained at Colsterdale near Masham.

He served with the pals in Egypt and went to France going over the top on the 1st of July 1916 near Serre at the battle of the Somme.

Arthur was one of the few pals who survived this fatefull day and joined the York and Lancasters after this event.

"Notice has been received by Mr and Mrs Wrigglesworth of Park Farm Bramham,

that their eldest son Gunner George Wrigglesworth of the machine gun corps was killed in action on August 16th, he was 20 years of age.

Prior to enlisting in 1915 he was employed at the gardens at Bramham Park"
